The city is mandated to ensure that the residents of Jinja city live in a sustainable and prosperous city with excellence in tourism, commerce and industry.

In line with our mandate, I have the pleasure of presenting to you the Jinja City Clients’ Charter. In the charter our commitments to our clients is to consolidate on these commitments, geared at ensuring quality service delivery in all the sectors of Health, Education, Roads, LED, Tourism and socio- economic transformation of the residents of Jinja City for Financial Years 2024/2025 to 2027/2028

This charter therefore defines the City key results areas, the commitments relating to each of the result area as well as the performance standards which our clients should expect. The Charter also lays down the core values to guide our staff in service delivery, key among which are quality client service, credibility, good stewardship, transparency and accountability.

The Jinja City Climate Change Action strategy is a plan aimed at mainstreaming climate change response in all the city services in order to put the city on a low carbon development path. The Jinja City Climate Change Action strategy is Jinja City flagship Programme for the city to achieve its sustainability ambitions.  The strategy addresses three issues:  The short and long-term adaptation of the city to climate change impacts.  Charting a low emissions development path for the City.  Transforming the threat of climate change into an opportunity for residents. Permeable for the Strategic Plan for Statistics 

The importance of statistics in informing planning and monitoring of government programs cannot be over emphasized. We need to know where we are, determine where we want to reach and know whether we have reached there. The monitoring of socio-economic progress is not possible without measuring progress and establishing whether human, financial and other resources are being used efficiently. The development of a City–based Strategic Plan for Statistics is intended to provide City tailored statistics and will reflect the peculiar nature of the City by looking at specific areas in the stated statistics direction, which would not be possible to provide at a higher level.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. 

 Jinja City is one of the newly created  cities and it is located 80km East of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Uganda’s vision 2040 spells out Jinja as a strategic industrial city. The Jinja  City  Physical Development  Plan  provides a  framework  for ensuring  orderly development in the city. Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development together with Jinja City spearheaded the preparation of the Physical Development Plan with support from the  World  Bank through  the  Uganda Support  to  Municipal Infrastructure  Development (USMID) Program.
